Server rules

Follow these rules when playing on Sector 31's servers. Play fair and always follow our conduct rules. Breaking them can lead to a kick, temporary ban or permanent ban at staff discretion.

No cheating or exploiting

Gaining an unfair advantage is banned, including (but not limited to):

  • Emote exploits
  • Desync peeking
  • Combat logging or restart abusing
  • Abusing trader mechanics for profit
  • Use of third-party tools

Safe Zone Rules

Safe zones are strictly non-hostile areas.

  • No griefing other survivors
  • No camping the edges of safe zones
  • Scamming is allowed — stay alert

General Rules

  • Do not share locations via chat, streams, or media
  • No griefing in any form

Streaming & Fair Play

  • No stream sniping
  • No stalking players via streams or external tools

Accounts & Fair Use

Compensation Policy

We may compensate players for issues related to Sector 31, or assist if you get stuck.

  • Compensation is not guaranteed and remains at staff discretion
  • Claims must include clear evidence (video or screenshots)
  • Only applies to server-related issues, not standard DayZ mechanics
  • No compensation for normal rollbacks (e.g. 2–3 minutes before restart)
  • Compensation may be partial
  • This policy may be limited if abused

Base Building & Raiding

Raid window

If you choose to build a base, you are expected to defend it. Raiding is allowed from Friday 20:00 CEST until Sunday 24:00 CEST, including offline raiding, but must remain fair and within the rules.

Secure your base

Your base must always be properly secured. If another player can simply walk into your base, this will not be considered a raid. Make sure your flag is well protected and placed behind multiple layers of defense.

Fair play during raids

During raids, respect fair play. Take only what you need and leave remaining loot in containers where possible. Griefing or intentionally ruining bases without reason will result in punishment.

Dismantling structures

Base structures (walls, doors, windows, roofs, floors) may only be dismantled if necessary to complete the raid, not for farming materials such as nails. Dismantling from the inside is only possible if the flagpole has been completely destroyed. If the flagpole is still standing, walls cannot be dismantled from the inside.

Raid cooldown & timer

After successfully raiding a base, your group may not raid that same base again for 24 hours. This cooldown applies only to your raiding group; other players are still free to raid it. A raiding group does not have to match in-game parties. A raid remains active for 60 minutes after the last breaching charge is placed, and raiders may extend it by actively engaging (shooting, smoke, holding angles).

Logging out & getting trapped

Logging out inside a base you have raided is not allowed. If you become trapped and cannot get out, you must respawn using suicide (F11) before logging out — at your own risk. Always create a ticket to inform staff. If you disconnect or crash while inside a base, you must log back in immediately.

Vehicles

Vehicles may be tampered with, but completely destroying or ruining a vehicle is not allowed. Minor vandalism is permitted.

Fair base design

Base designs must allow fair interaction between attackers and defenders. Raiders must have a reasonable chance to defend themselves and see their opponents. Designs relying on impossible angles, invisible peeks, or spaces too small to properly fight in are not allowed — players must be able to raise their weapons and engage without restriction.

Walkways & floors

Narrow walkways or balancing mechanics are allowed, as long as they remain fair. Fake floors are permitted, but must be clearly visible and allow the player to escape without requiring tools or items.

Building during an active raid

Building, dismantling structures, or adding codelocks during an active raid is not allowed for 60 minutes after the last charge is placed. However, placing defensive items such as landmines, bear traps, claymores and tripwires is allowed. Attackers may not build objects or place structures to trap defenders inside their own base.

Raidable from the ground

Bases must always be raidable from the ground. Floating bases or designs requiring helicopters or unintended access are not allowed. Shooting through windows is allowed as long as the window and frame remain clearly visible. Camouflage nets may be used but may not fully block visibility. Peeking through gaps is allowed only if those gaps are clearly visible and of reasonable size — extremely small or unfair peeks are not allowed.

No forced actions

Raiders may not be forced into actions such as vaulting, crawling, jumping, or using items in order to access loot or flags.

No base takeover

Taking over another player's base is not allowed. You may destroy a flag, but you may not place your own flag or claim the base as long as any enemy structures or storage remain. You are also not allowed to build players inside or block them into their base.

Third parties & limits

Raids may be interrupted by third parties — any player who comes across an active raid is allowed to engage. Each base is allowed one quick-exit to improve gameplay flow, and a maximum of 10 doors with codelock.
